Project Description:

To promote digital learning for the elderly, cybersecurity is vital, as it brings peace of mind, eliminates anxieties, generates confidence in the environment and makes it easier to overcome barriers.

confidence in the environment and makes it easier to overcome barriers. Indeed, cybersecurity is a human right that must be ensured through policies that policies that guarantee privacy, consent of information and autonomy.

Twenty percent of the Spanish population, some nine and a half million people, are elderly. In a scenario such as the current one

the number of people over 65 who have taken the leap into the digital world has also grown. According to recent research on digital skills, in Spain only 6.5% of people over 65 years of age have the necessary skills to use new technologies, and only half of the people between 65 and 74 years of age who,

Internet users consider themselves to have the necessary digital skills to use the Internet – despite the widespread use of mobile phones in recent years.

widespread use of cell phones for many years in this age group.

GOALS

The main objective of this project is to develop knowledge, attitudes and digital skills applied to cybersecurity in older people for a more efficient and inclusive use of the most common digital technologies in people over 60 with low digital competences.

This project aims to respond to the needs of digital transformation in terms of cybersecurity literacy to ensure a safe digital transition in both education and society.

– The creation or expansion of an access to upskilling pathways for adults with a low level of skills. The project aims to address

the needs of the main target group (adults over 60 with low digital skills) in digital security and empower them for a more inclusive digital transformation through tailored cybersecurity literacy training.

– Expand and develop the skills of educators and teachers. The project aims to support the promotion and implementation of cybersecurity in adult education (through the methodological guide for trainers) as a key aspect

to contribute to a more just and secure transition in today’s digital education.

TARGET GROUP

– Seniors (over 60): This population group has gone digital to a considerable degree in the last two years, precisely because of their increasingly constant use of technological tools in the wake of the covid-19 pandemic.

years, precisely because of the increasingly constant use of technological tools in the wake of the covid-19 pandemic, increasing the risk of becoming an easy target for cybercriminals who take advantage of their vulnerability. It should also be

This population group grew up in a generation in which these technologies did not exist and they are afraid to use them,

which makes them even more vulnerable in terms of digital security.

– Adult education trainers working with adults over 60: The presence of new technologies in the classroom

has become a challenge for both students and teachers. Cybersecurity education is a key factor in the training of trainers to

promote digital security in adult education, especially those working in the field of ICT. Therefore, training teachers in cybersecurity to act as catalysts and facilitators of information is essential to raise awareness among learners, in particular older learners, of

the importance of adopting responsible and safe online behavior.

EXPECTED RESULTS

The results we would like to obtain are the following:

– A methodological guide for trainers working with adults over 60 years old. This guide will contain, on the one hand

relevant information on the current situation of seniors in terms of their digital and cybersecurity skills in the partner countries, as well as the new challenges they face.

as well as the new challenges they face. On the other hand, it will contain information, resources and methods to help trainers apply and promote cybersecurity as part of lifelong learning in the field of adult education.

– A moodle platform as a training support tool for the classroom course. It will allow the storage of materials and

resources on cybersecurity, as well as user interaction during the training period.

– “Cyberacy: cybersecurity literacy training for seniors”. This specialized training will provide seniors with limited cybersecurity literacy

cybersecurity through a face-to-face modality.
