Project Description:
The project “Engaging Youth in Digital Green Future 2.0 ” emerged in response to the pressing need to educate and engage young people in the key policy debates around the European Green Deal and the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. With the adoption of the Fit for 55 plan in 2024, which launches the European Green Deal, our project aims to educate young people about these important policy frameworks. By facilitating discussions, participation days and teacher training, our project aims to empower young people to understand, engage and contribute to global sustainability efforts. Aligned with the objectives of the European Youth Strategy and the overarching goals of the call, our project brings a multifaceted approach to youth empowerment and environmental transition. By engaging young people in policy discussions and local initiatives related to the European Green Deal, our project aims to foster a sense of connection and responsibility among youth, contributing to the goal of connecting the EU with its younger citizens. Furthermore, by leveraging digital platforms and tools, the project not only aims to enhance participants’ digital skills but also amplifies their voices in the ongoing dialogue on climate action and sustainability, thereby advancing the objectives of creating inclusive virtual spaces and promoting sustainable development. Through the strategic alignment of our project with the EU Youth Goals and its efforts to integrate Western Balkan countries into the dialogue, the project embodies the principles of the European Youth Strategy, empowering young individuals to become active agents of change for a greener and more sustainable future.
